Company:
We are recruiting for our client, a leading large drinks distributer. They are looking for an organised and proactive professional is required to join a busy Transport team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient planning of daily transport operations while delivering a high standard of customer service
Responsibilities:
Planning and coordinating daily transport operations for drivers and mates.
Allocating routes and workloads to maximise vehicle and workforce utilisation.
Using planning systems, including DIPS, to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
Monitoring transport performance and making adjustments where required.
Liaising with the Customer Support team to provide live delivery updates.
Reviewing delivery routes to improve efficiency and reduce transport costs.
Supporting driver and mate inductions and maintaining training records.
Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, company policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Producing transport statistics and reports in a timely manner.
Processing orders, pick lists, despatch notes and load sheets in line with depot procedures.
Providing support to the Warehouse Manager as required
Candidate Requirements:
Previous transport or route planning experience is desirable.
Strong IT skills and confidence using transport planning systems.
Experience working within a high-volume logistics or distribution environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
A proactive approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Hours of Work:
39 hours per week
Monday to Friday
